Canceled

News is always disturbing; after all, that's what "sells."

I used to live out east. I was a devoted reader of the NY Times, because that's what you did if you were a young professional. This was back in the 90's. I expected the liberal slant to the reporting and OpEd and Book Review, and also in the Arts section (those folk like to 'stick it to the man.')

Then I began to notice the slant became more intense in the Arts. It started showing up in Travel and other supposedly neutral topics.

Then, of all places, the politics showed up in the FOOD section. I could not believe my eyes.

I canceled my subscription the next day.

Late last week I received in the mail a plea for a subscription from the Times. I sent it back with these words: "Your writes and reporters mock those of us in 'flyover country' and now you was me to BUY your rag? Good joke. NO, thank you!"
