Crowns

Russian style crowns
Why crowns during the Orthodox Christian sacrament of Marriage?
At the moment when the crowns are placed on their heads during the sacrament, the groom and bride become husband and wife. They are the king and queen of their own, little kingdom, yes. But even more, the crowns symbolize the martyric crowns the man and woman assume in their married life. Each martyrs self for the other.

My beloved and I just ordered our wedding crowns from this wonderful artisan: Ann Clough of Orthodox Wedding Crowns. She does exquisite work, as you can see from her photos.

No, not the style we ordered.

We ordered Greek-style, 3/8" stainless steel, with white 'tie' ribbon.

I can hardly wait to see them!

(The countdown in the right column is to our wedding day...)
