Manliness cannot be reduced to a matter of style -- and conflating matters of style with manly character is an affront to the latter.

I think you misunderstand the reason I posted this. As I am newly married (and in my mid-50s) I have never had the opportunity to dress a man or know men's clothing: inseams and neck sizes and collar types and cuffs, and... all the rest. So, seeing this was of interest to me.

My husband is a manly man, and can dress "well" when he chooses. However, I would never conflate his style with his sterling character. Neither do I judge a man's character solely by how he dresses. That being said, how any person dresses can say something about his or her character.
