Honesty

DH and I were talking about Confession the other day.

The sacrament changes us, this we know. We are freed from the bonds of our confessed sins. I maintain that the main thing confession teaches us is to be -- honest.

The Lord God already knows everything we have done, said, and thought. But He wants us to be honest with ourselves. He can't -- or won't -- heal us until we acknowledge something is wrong, needs healing, needs correcting.
